Congresswoman Karen Bass (CA-33)
April 23, 2012 in 20 Stories
Karen Bass is the U.S. Representative for California’s 33rd congressional district. Prior to her serving as the current Congress member for CA-33rd, Karen Bass made history when the California Assembly elected her to be its 67th Speaker, catapulting her to become the first African American woman in the country to serve in this powerful state legislative role. In 1990 Bass founded and ran Community Coalition, a community-based social justice organization in South Los Angeles to empower residents to get involved in making a difference.

The Los Angeles times reported in an article a couple days ago that about 66 per cent of black youth ages 16-24 are unemployed. It is a horrible situation. Anybody can see that illegal aliens have huge numbers of entry level jobs here in Los Angeles. If mandatory e-verify was put in place, probably TENS of THOUSANDS of jobs young black people could easily do would open up in short time. BUT, not Karen Bass or ONE black leader supports E-Verify!! I urge black voters to call Representative Bass, Maxine Waters and Laura Richardson and tell them to SUPPORT E-Verify and GIVE BLACK YOUTH THEIR JOBS BACK!
